A favourite seniors' retirement destination
With Australia’s best climate its little wonder Port Macquarie remains a favourite seniors’ destination.
But there’s more than ideal weather. Fortunately government spending on essential infrastructure has ramped up to deliver better community facilities for tomorrow:
- recently completed four lane freeway to Sydney (less than four hours away)
- $150m hospital extension
- airport and runway upgrade to cater for large jets
- Charles Sturt University campus.
As one of the faster growing regional cities, medical and consultant services are increasing to match demand
e.g. a new super clinic will open in 2015.
Currently the seniors’ community is supported by three major service clubs (Panthers, Port City Bowling Club and Westport Club) and a host of welfare, sporting and special interest organisations.
